Should I have my dog at my wedding ceremony?

Writer: Michelle Shannon Michelle Shannon

Alicia and Geoff married in the stunning hinterland region of Byron Bay at the Earth House. When they told me that their dog Gabby would be their ring bearer I was excited (as I love wolf hounds) and I also get a little nervous as you never know what pets will do in a crowd.

Keeping their ceremony simple and elegant taking advantage of the natural beauty of the views over the valley their pooch Gabby calmly delivered their wedding rings on command.

Earth House is one of my favourite locations to work at. Munro the Owner is just divine and makes sure that everything works like clock work. If you are looking at including your dog in your wedding ceremony best to have someone they know look after them on the day so you can relax, have a calm space for them to be post ceremony, and always on a lead during the ceremony so they don't jump all over you and the guests.

Having your dog deliver your wedding rings takes a little practice but can be a very memorable moment.

After working in the wedding industry for over 16 years I can

honestly say it has been the best job I have ever had.

The good news is I'm also spreading my wings West this year.

I will be mainly based in Byron Bay but I am also looking forward to working in Tenterfield - 3 hours West of Byron. A place I fell in love with in 2022 and then bought a home there.

Please don't hesitate to contact me for more information
